Biography

PHOTOCOACH™ , was created in 1998 by Andre Amyot, a professional photographer with 35 years of photography experience plus 10 years of coaching with photographers. In 1974, following a 10 year career as a photographer for the Canadian Air Force, he owned and operated SRT Inc., one of the most successful commercial, industrial and portrait photography studios in North America with annual billings approaching $ 2 million.

Andre developed a strong reputation for his ability to create unique images in difficult and unusual settings and circumstances. He realized early on that the key to his success was not only his ability to deliver the perfect photographs, but also his ability to successfully market his services in a highly competitive, large city marketplace.

Out of love for his life long profession, Andre still dabbles in photography – but his current mission is to help professional photographers achieve both personal and professional success.

In July 2003, his first book: The Art and Techniques of Business Portrait Photography was published by Amherst Media.

On August 1, 2003, the new company name, PhotoCoach International Inc. was launched to more accurately reflect it’s worldwide PhotoCoach System^TM.

In addition to his speaking engagements, Andre also offers one-on-one in-person coaching and training – telephone and web coaching and consulting – and in the near future, an extensive teleclass program. Andre and his wife, also publishes a Free Newsletter, “The Lumen Factor.” for studio profitability, marketing, profit making and owner performance.

PAST PRESIDENT OF THE PPOC

Andre has served as President of the CMPQ Association as well as the prestigious Professional Photographer’s of Canada,(PPOC) serving some 1100 members. He frequently serves as a judge in major photography competitions. He is the acting past director of the National Exhibition committee for PPOC.

BOOKS

Andre’s first book The Art & Techniques of Business Portrait Photography , is being published by Amherst Media Inc. has been released in the summer of 2003. The book combines both business advice and technical guidance for success in “business portraiture.” This volume includes a comprehensive hand picked collection of some 129 photographs from past assignments.
